About

Clifford is a musician and educator based in South Wales. His compositions have been performed in the United States and the United Kingdom. He writes a wide variety of concert and recital music, from orchestral and wind ensemble works to chamber pieces. He is also an avid trumpet player, playing with orchestras and jazz bands throughout south Wales. Clifford is also an accomplished pianist, with experience playing in jazz bands, for receptions, as an accompanist and even in a piano bar. He has also served as a conductor for the University of Bath Concert Band and an assistant director of the University of Bath Strings Ensemble. 

Clifford currently offers trumpet, music theory and composition, and piano lessons in South Wales and London. He also working on a new series of compositions to be performed by the amateur organisations of which he is a part. 

Clifford holds degrees in music composition from Bath Spa University (MA 2020) and the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (Bachelor of Music 2009). He also holds an MSc in Social and Cultural Theory from the University of Bristol (2023). Besides music, Clifford is also an accomplished photographer, with photographs published throughout the United States and Germany. He was born in Southern California, grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and schooled in the American south and Midwest, eventually settling in South Wales, where he lives with his husband.
